I adored this game and loved replaying to get all the different achievements. Though each path is short, they're all very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm a huge Austen fan and there are so little games inspired by her work, or even Regency set games, it was a joy to play this, even if I didn't get to play my a route with my favourite, Mr Knightly. Adding this to my collection so I can come back and replay when I need an Austen fix.
I do hope to finish this game one day, which should include a path with Mr Knightley. The plan is to have paths with all the heroes. However, I got stuck on Edward Ferrars, and it will be a bit hard to construct other paths around his and leave enough room for him on the screen, even on a laptop screen. I really need to get around to working out what to do about him. But I'm glad you've reminded me about this game! And it's good to know that it's still finding an audience after all this time.
After receiving the Georgiana achievement, I couldn't help but think of that meme,
"--and they were roommates!" "Oh my god, they were roommates.."
Whereas in this context I replaced the roommates with ''companions'' aha, get it? Because the two are obvious /though it may not actually be canon, though if it is I genuinely apologize for being this dense/ pinning on each other..
I might not be making any sense there, though I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this! I enjoyed the realistic perspective of standing up for a friend or not saying anything due to shame and whatnot. I also enjoyed all the routes and am totally going back to reread these! Much love, friend!
I wanted to give some same-sex options in this game. Emma Woodhouse is often considered a lesbian/bi icon, so I'm looking forward to getting on to those story lines. I'm a bit stuck with Edward Ferrars at the moment, which has slowed everything down to a grinding halt. It'd be nice to continue, though.
I'm glad you've enjoyed what you've played so far. We really need more Austen-based games, and players like you are the reason why we need them.
I loved playing through the current routes. Getting through the caroline bingley one was harder than I'd like to admit, if only because I kept wanting to chastise her. Looking forward to the upcoming routes!
As a side note, there seems to be a spelling mistake in the achievements section.
I'm glad you've enjoyed it so much! Yes, I think I noticed that spelling error - was it 'endening' or something like that? - after posting. I'll proofread everything before I post the final version, which all 9 branches and who knows how many endings/achievements. Promise!
